Upon seeing this chart, I instantly wanted to tap on it or its segments to see each category in more detail. It would also be good to be able to switch the charts between folder mode and category mode for more fine-grained detail or a more high level overview.

Consolidated requirements

  • Make chart segments selectable and highlight the selected category or segment.

  • Show the corresponding category details, amount and percentage; support hover details where appropriate and haptic feedback on suitable devices.

  • Preserve the ability to switch between folder-level and category-level views for different levels of detail.

    Interactive chart

    When clicking on the charts which are available in the Overview section, make it interactive with a haptic feedback.

    For an example, Total Expenses under Overview Section, if the Pie chart is clicked then highlight the selected Category details in chart along with Category details in the bottom!

    A complement to the suggested feature is:
    1- to show details (expense category, amount and %) when hovering the mouse over any such category in charts.

    2- create a chart type for entire groups of categories
